Well few times Adobe was trying to ask what game developers that use Flash need. Well we need edge in catching attention over Unity when we need it. So far Flash does not allow that.

And yeah browser game market is becoming very lively. Facebook games, all those new monetization services and those new technologies. I wonder how much "do it for the living" this market will provide as more and more developers see it as an interesting market. In that sense attention to it from such gains as EA is little bit scary :) But still it is good I think.

Honestly for years I was thinking and checking on to Director(3D and Havock was what was making me curious) but lack of popularity, good usage examples, good documentation was always stopping me... It felt like it is not loved nor by users, developers or even Macromedia/Adobe. It always felt as underdog/abomination in compare to Flash and as drawcode wrote it may be too late for it. From checking forum discussions new developers pick Unity and even some Director developers switch as Adobe does not show any public confidence/priority in Director future and this technology on first glance seems if not dead then at least lagging ages behind.

I honestly haven't seen good 3D games made on Director(at least at a level which Torque/Unity show).

In any case it is great Director might be getting some focus but it could be too little too late. Lingo sucks and javascript is poorly implemented in the cludgy director UI (this coming from a licensee for years including 11). Unity3D based on Mono (C#, javascript and python-like Boo) has a much better chance of long-term success. Where else can you use Lingo as a skill? Director in its current form is dead for future.
